Etymology

Corble Fm. Cf. Corbynesnedle c. 1294 (c. 1444) BC, 1354–5 (1456) ForPer . 'Clearing in the raven wood.' The elements are the obsolete word corbin , 'raven,' snǣd and (a)h. It is impossible to ascertain the precise sense of the last two when used together. The modern name appears in Corbell hill c. 1840TA .
