Etymology

Ot Moor is Ottanmere 1005–12 (15th) Thorney , Ottemor c. 1191 (c. 1280) Set passim with variant spellings Ottemore , Ottemour to 1363 Cl. '*Otta 's fen,' v. mōr . The -e - in the form from Thorney is probably miscopied from an original -o -. Oddington (233–4) may contain the name of the same man.
