Etymology

Dustfield Fm takes name from Dustesfeld 1298 Eynsh, Dustlesfeld 1300 Wych, Dustfield 1608–9Survey . The first element is probably the common word dust , in spite of the -s - in the earliest forms. This element occurs in Duston in Nth and in some minor names in that county, v. PN Nth 82.
