Etymology

Haddon Fm (6″), Marsh Haddon Fm take name from Haddon '1225–8 Eynsh (p)et passim with variant spellings Haddon (e ), Haddune , Eddone c. 1235 Os (p), Heddone c. 1240 Os (p), Mershaddon 1278–9 RH. OE  hǣþ-dūn, 'uncultivated hill slope.' 'Marsh' has been prefixed to the 1278–9 form.
