Etymology

Weekley Hall Wood is Wikelehawe 1332, 1337Ass , 1345 Ipm.v. haga . The modern form is corrupt. (Cf. Priors Hall infra 174.) haga normally denotes an enclosure, but its modern descendant haw is, according to EDD, used of a small wood or coppice.
