v. æppel , tun . The termination le Street is of late appearance, as in the case of Barton le Street 47infra . It refers to a supposed Roman road (6″ OS sheet 123 NE 4), on which Appleton and Barton stand, v. stræt . On the element le v. Barton le Willows 38supra . For Holdelithe v. 42supra .
