Etymology

Perry Oaks is Pyrye 1337Rental , 1355 Works, 1411 AD iii, Pury 1355 Works, Puryplace 1553 FF, Peryplace t. Hy 8MinAcct , Perry Oaks 1754 R. 'The pear tree,' v. pirige . The Oaks would seem to be a late addition, when the original name was no longer understood.
