Sharp Holmes 1839(Scharpholme 1553+, Sharp(e) Holme 15951, 17121, Sharp(e) holme 15952, 1663, a Mawre called Skarpholme(sic) c.1638(named from along-established family here, cf. Nicholas Scharp 1277–62, John Scharpe 1289+, and holmr; this was also a saltern or salt-hill)
