Sherrards Ho and Sherrardspark Wood are Scheregge 1270FF (p), wood of Shirigge 1285 Pat, in bosco suo de Shirigge , Sheregge in Dycheneswell 1287Ass . 'Bright ridge,' v. scir .“There is a pebble bed in the highest part of Sherrards Wood which may well have given rise to the name 'bright ridge'” (E. J. S.). ds shows a common sound substitution for dge .
