Etymology

Bandons is Banden , Bandenvaley 1479Rental and was the home of Henry de Bendene (1255Ass ) and Dion de Bendene (1294SR ).This is probably 'bean valley,' i.e. where these were cultivated, v. denu . The s is pseudo-manorial. Cf. Bandley Hill supra 118.
