Boisley Wood, Boseleyfell (e ), Boseleisfell (e )1233, 1234 GlR, Bosele (y )g c. 1240, c. 1270 GlR, Boseleyesbrok c. 1270 ib. 'Bosa's clearing', from the OE  pers.n. Bosa and lēah; -fell may be from OE  felh 'ploughed land'.
