Etymology
Hedge Hall (6″) is (la ) Heghall (e )1294 Ipm, 14th–15th ECP.'Hall near or with a hedge or enclosure.' Cf. Weldenhegge in Great Waltham (1413 ER xiii) and Mumms Hedge Common (infra 613), which is described as “a wood of the lord's” in 1408.v. also Blythhedges Wood supra 252.
