Priors is Prioures 16thRental , Pryours Woode , Pryours lande , Pryours lane t. Hy 8Survey . This may be named from the family of Robert Pryer (1274 RH), but William atte Priours (1327SR ) probably owed his surname to the fact that he lived at the place called Priours , part of the possessions of the Prior of Blackmore (M ii, 77).
