Etymology

'Folkwarth 's village,' v. þorp . The pers. name is OScand  Folkvarðr , found also in Fockerby (WRY), Fulcwardby 1164–77 YCh 487, etc. The spellings in Fulc -, Fulk - may be OEScand  in origin or they may have been influenced by the common continental German name Fulcard (Forssner 98).
