Whitfield (a farm, lost), Whitfield 1774 Hutch1, 1795 Boswell, 1863 Hutch3, probably to be associated with William de Whitefeld 1318 FF mentioned in connection with Stok Waleys (Mandeville Stoke supra ), cf. the f.n. Whitfield 1843TA located just NW of the village at SY 392959.
