Halfyard Coppice (ST 412005), Half Yard (Copse )1841TA , curiam de la Helveyerda 13 (15) Forde (f. 87), 'the half yard of land', from OE  healf and gerd 'a measure of land consisting of about thirty acres', cf. Yard Fm in Marshwood par. supra which lies c.1 mile SE from here.
