Cuda and hyll or halh , with howe 'enclosure', cf. Cudnall Gl 297 and the surname of John Cud 1340 NI (Lytchett Matravers); the same pers.n. may be found in the lost name Cotenham 1463MinAcct , Cudnam 1519Ct , v. hamm .
