Aller (Fm) (ST 769029) [ˈalər], Alre 1332 SR (p), 1400Ilch , Aller 1544 Hutch3, 1795 Boswell, Allar 1602AddCh , '(place at) the alder-tree', v. alor (dat.sg. alre ), cf. Arle Gl 2104, Aller D (freq) and So (DEPN) which are identical in origin, and cf. the nearby Aldermore and the f.ns. Allers (Spring), Rotten Alders Md all infra .
