Stapelford (C, Ch, Ess, etc). The Cranborne-Ringwood road crosses R. Crane here. The mill here is probably (on the site of) the water-mill in Westworth infra mentioned in 1546 Hutch3 3425, cf. also molend ' de Emodesham 1268Ass , Mill and Gdn 1838TA , and the two mills in two of the manors of Edmondsham in 1086 DB (VCHDo 368, 101).
