John At (t )(e ) Wode 1432–1438Weld 1, v. atte . The alternative name Iveley is Eveley , Eueley 1447, 1448Weld 1, perhaps 'woodland glade where ivy grows', v. īfig , lēah , although alternatively, as Professor Löfvenberg points out, the first el. may be the OE  pers.n.
