Etymology

This par., like Chardstock par. infra , was transferred to Devon in 1896 and is partly surveyed in PN D 655–6. Philleyholme in this par. was a tithing in Uggescombe hundred supra in 1332 SR, etc. However Wild Court was always a tithing in Cerne, Totcombe & Modbury hundred, and the par. as a whole is included here by Hutch1 2 299, Hutch3 4 46.
