Etymology

v. stoc(c). The manor was held by Robert de Albamarla in 1086 (DB) and by Ralph de Aubemarle in 1238 FF (called Radulfus de Alba Mare 1242 Fees 789). For the later form of the pers. name, cf. Sydenham Damarel supra 209.
