Etymology

This is perhaps OE  Friesan-ham (m ), 'Frisian's ham(m),' as suggested by Blomé (48). In OGer  Friso is freely used as a pers. name, with a diminutive Frisiko (Förstemann PN 525) and there may have been a similar OE name.
