Etymology

The first element in the light of fuller forms is probably Fucga , a weak form of the first element in the p.n. fucges flodan (BCS 674), rather than the Focga of the Devon focgan igeðas (v. s. n. Voghay infra 457), as suggested by Blomé (146). The ing is probably connective.
