Etymology

This is probably from OE  Dynning -tūn , i.e. 'Dynna 's farm,' v. ingtun . It may be that Dynna is to be identified with the Donna (Exch Donno ) who held the manor TRE, with a rare though not unparalleled rendering of OE y by o before n in DB.
