Higher and Lower Wadstray

Early-attested site in the Parish of Blackawton

Etymology

'Wade 's tree.' This pers. name is recorded by Redin (130), but is somewhat doubtful. Cf. Wadswick (W)Wadeswica 12th BM. There is no stream here, so the first element cannot be wæd.
