Etymology

Dr J. R. H. Moorman points out for us that this should not, as in CW xxi, 134, be identified with Lanerton infra 115.

The first element is a British word corresponding to Welsh  llanerch 'grove' as in Lanercost; the second may correspond to Welsh  eithin 'furze.'
