Etymology

In addition to the parochial Chapelry of Marbury 105supra , the parish of Whitchurch Sa contained the township of Wirswall. Wirswall, Norbury and Marbury are described in DB as berewicks (v. bere-wīc) of Whitchurch Sa, as also was Stoneley Green 135infra , v. Tait 153.
