Marbury Chapelry

Etymology
Marbury was made a parish in 1870. Previously it was a parochial chapelry of Whitchurch Sa, cf. Wirswall 112infra . In 1291 Tax it is treated as a parish, and c.1536 Leland iv2 calls it Merb 'y paroche . The chapelry contained two townships, 1. Marbury cum Quoisley, 2. Norbury.
